NPFFC SUPPORTS THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION
Naperville Professional Firefighters have made a commitment over the years to helping those afflicted with muscular dystrophy. This all came full circle within the last several years when one of our own was diagnosed with MD. This reaffirmed our goals of helping raise money to help fight this disease.
We have two main goals with our fundraising efforts: The first is to help raise funds for research to help treat and defeat this disease. Our second goal is to help send children afflicted by this disease to MDA Summer Camp where they can let go and have fun for a week during the summer.
2018 COLLECTION DATES
Crews will be out collecting on the corners in downtown Naperville on May 17, 18 & 19. If you can’t make it out to see us on the corner to help fill the boot, please consider giving online to help us make the most of this effort to Fill the Boot.
ABOUT MDA FILL THE BOOT
The first Fill the Boot® campaign took place in Massachusetts in 1954 and raised $5,000. In 2014, $26.8 million was raised by the combined effort of more than 100,000 firefighters. All collections go to support the MDA mission of leading the fight to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life.
